ABOUT THE LAKE ZURICH MAULERS
We launched the Lake Zurich Maulers in an effort to help continue the growth of the game of rugby not just in our community but across Illinois. Originally, we had planned to launch our inaugural season focusing only on touch rugby; however, the immense amount of support for our program has resulted in us expanding into U13 in our first season as well.
Children of all ages and abilities can easily pick up the game and begin playing right away. The rules are simple, the game is easy to learn, and minimal equipment is required.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Rookie Rugby is for all children ages 4-10 years old. This is a non-contact, touch version of the game of rugby.
U13 is for children ages 10-12. This is an introductory, tackle version of the game of rugby.
As the club grows, there's opportunities for the Maulers to expand to include additional levels in the future - including U15 (6th to 8th grade), and High School.

- 20 Years Experience between HS (Saint Charles), Collegiate (Northern Illinois), and Men's D3 Level (Fox Valley, NW Woodsmen)
- Certified World Rugby Level 1 Coach
- Rugby SAFE Certified
- Basics and Concussion Protocol Training
- Two sons - Owen and Oliver - that are members of the Maulers team
James Peters
- 20 Years Experience between HS (Saint Charles), Collegiate (Northern Illinois), and Men's D3/D4 Levels (Fox Valley, NW Woodsmen, McHenry)
- Certified World Rugby Level 1 Coach
- Rugby SAFE Certified
- Basics and Concussion Protocol Training
- One son - James - that is a member of the Maulers team; and one daughter - Charlotte
Joshua Luke
- 10 Years Experience Men's D3 Level (NW Woodsmen)
- Certified World Rugby Level 1 Coach
- Rugby SAFE Certified
- Basics and Concussion Protocol Training
- US Army Veteran
- One daughter - Alexis

The Maulers are volunteer run and we appreciate any help we can have. Rugby experience is not required though all coaches will be required to have a background check.
